What do you think of when you see someone smile? Do you notice? Does their smile ignite anything inside of you? Do you ever wonder what they are so happy about? Have you ever thought to yourself, “that person is living in a state of awareness?”

Smiling releases all the muscles in our face. It can mean that we’re at peace, joyful, feeling gratitude, hopeful, calm. And a smile spreads to others.
This simple concept - the peace available just from smiling - is only one of dozens of ideas relating to personal development, that are explored in the book, “Peace is Every Step, The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life,” by Thich Nhat Hanh.
