Which Direction is Your Compass Pointing?

If you find yourself feeling stuck, unmotivated, or unsure of which direction you should take on your personal development journey, it’s time to look at which direction your compass is pointing.

How Close are You to Reaching Your Goal?

There are three basic states of achieving a goal. You’re either moving forward or toward your goal, or you are sabotaging your own efforts and moving away from your goal, or you are stuck in neutral, not making much progress, but not really committed to the goal’s success or failure. Toward, Away or Neutral.

cosmic handOur habitual thoughts and behaviors either create resistance, or they create a state of allowing, or being in the flow. When we are in a state of resistance, everything seems difficult, it’s a struggle. We don’t feel motivated, maybe we even feel disconnected from our goal or feel confused. Like a hamster on a wheel, all your best efforts and energy keep you running in a circle. This moves you away from your goal. Anytime you feel struggle or resistance, you know which direction the compass is pointing.

What is Your Motivation?

When you’re in neutral, you don’t make much progress, but you’re not applying much action either. So your results are a direct result of the action and energy you put to further your goal. It’s kind of like treading water, you’re not going under, but you’re not reaching the shore either. If you’re in neutral, you might wish to examine your motivation and determine if the goal you have in mind is something you are really passionate about. Perhaps you’re not fully convinced of the benefits you’ll receive by reaching the goal. It’s keeping you from feeling connected or passionate about the goal, which is keeping you from creating or manifesting it.

One method to move you closer to your goal is to determine what the benefits of achieving the goal will be for you. Not for your friends, family, co-workers, significant other but to YOU. Will this goal bring you joy, a feeling of freedom, a feeling of satisfaction, what will achieving this goal do for you?

Focus on Feelings of Gratitude

Once you’re convinced of the benefits you’ll receive, consciously choose to feel gratitude for your present circumstances. It truly does not matter what those circumstances are, feel happy with what you have right now. It is not possible for you to consciously create an abundance of what you desire, when you are focused on what you are lacking. In fact it’s difficult to find the motivation to do anything when you are in a state of struggle, resistance, or disharmony. Check in with yourself regularly and determine if your actions are moving you toward your desires, away from your desires, or if you’re stuck in neutral.

#1, I find that if I’m not manifesting, then it is because I am blocking that somehow. I try to find out where the disconnect is occurring in my thought patterns.
A real life example, I have put on my dream board a new Chrysler. My roommate goes out and buys one, and then someone gives me a 99 Chevy Blazer.
I manifested a Chrysler in the garage, but not with my name on it, and I know it is because I have told myself often, that I did not deserve a new car, because I had not taken care of my present car the way I should have, so instead I get a used Blazer :)
That is the kind of blocker I am talking about. I am working on getting those out of my mind, so I can manifest my true desires, and yes it all begins with gratitude.

I like this one cause we have the choice to move the compass.
In our benefit at anytime most importantly is to recognize if you are toward away or neutral. I like it…..

I liked the Cary Darling`s response-”I manifested a Chrysler in the garage, but not with my name on it”. I find it very interesting cause I`ve noticed that the same thing happens to me all over again and I don`t understand why. I manifest things but they don`t belong to me.Can somebody help me understand why is this happening?

I have also experienced wanting a new car and someone close to me getting the exact same car I wanted. I have thought a lot about why these type of things happen.

I believe the main points here are gratitude and allowing and how they work together. When you are truly greatful and happy with the car that you have, you become unattached to ‘having’ to have the new car. You do not require the new car to be happy. You can be happy with the ‘idea’ of the new car. Then, you are allowing the new car into your life.

It’s a snowball effect, isn’t it? When you start to get what you’ve been focusing on, it makes you feel good and you focus on it all the more, so you get more of it, and so on. The hardest bit is starting form a place where you don’t have what you want and you don’t feel good about it. That’s why ‘the rich get richer and the poor get poorer’ unless we can break out and choose a new way. It’s hard to start and I sympathize with many people in this situation.
