Tools of the Mind

June 17th, 2008 by Zoey Jordan

You wouldn’t cut your lawn with a pair of scissors, would you? Of course not. You run your home with the most efficient tools you can. But what about your life? What sort of tools do you use to run your life?

We are constantly in a state of creation

You see, every thought we think, every word we speak, every deed we do and everything we allow ourselves to possess has an effect on our physical body and plays a role in determining the environment and the kind of people that we draw to us. If we sometimes get what we call punishment, or a raw deal, it was our own self that created that thing, although perhaps unconsciously.

Within each of us is a great mechanism for creation. You might call it the chamber of imagery and thoughts. In it are materials that we use to create. The tool that we use to shape our thoughts is our imagination. Like all of our unique gifts, our imagination is under our own control and our own direction.

It would seem sometimes, judging from our experiences, that our imagination can be a bit of a mischief maker, because sometimes it seems to create situations that we don’t really want. The law of attraction is an interesting force, because it is constantly working to manifest that which we imagine for ourselves, or situations we believe that we deserve. Your mental imagery actually helps to construct the reality that you experience.

Sadness, sickness and poverty are indications that something is wrong with our mental machinery. We form a poverty consciousness or a sick consciousness by letting thoughts of poverty or sickness stay in our mind until they are crystallized into physical realities.

Conquering negative thoughts

One of the strategies in the Rich Mind Life Strategy program is conquering negative thought, the moment you are consciously aware it has entered your mind. That’s the moment when it is the weakest. Of course even better than conquering a thought when it enters the mind, is to try to prevent it from entering at all.

It is important to exercise conscious control over our thoughts. Every thought has a bearing on that which appears in our life and affairs. The only way to bring about a change in present conditions or situations is to make a definite change in thought habits.  At all times, our mental attitude, our thoughts and words, are the creative or destructive influences in our own lives.

Do you tell yourself, and others: “I can’t, I’m sick, I’m too poor, I’m too tired?” You deny yourself the power, health and prosperity, that is rightfully yours.  Think and use the tools of imagery to work for you and tell yourself and others: “I am well, I have plenty, I have limitless energy. I am at peace with my world.”  This allows you to open the way for health, success and happiness.
