Self improvement is a concept that actually leads us to believe that we’re flawed or that we need to fix ourselves. Guess what? That’s a myth! The only thing that needs to change, is our perception that we are lacking or that we aren’t good enough just as we are, right now. Our belief system is the only thing that needs self improvement.

Tune Out the Self Improvement Messages

If you turn on the television, flip through a magazine, or log onto the internet, you are bombarded with advertisements promoting services or products that will make your life better than it already is. The message is that you are not good enough.

Advertisements point out what is wrong with you, what you don’t have, and tell you what you should have. The messages are consistent, and they come at us from all directions. This is dangerous stuff!

sunny-field.jpgWhen we buy into the collective conscious of “not good enough,” in essence we are giving up our ability to think for ourselves. Throughout our lives, people who meant well have let us know we need to improve: teachers, parents, friends, bosses, peers. Even the most confident person, with healthy self-esteem, can begin to feel like they could do better.

Personal Development isn’t Self Improvement

Truthfully, we can all develop further. Personal development is not the same as self improvement. Personal development isn’t about fixing what’s wrong, it’s about enhancing your life, manifesting your desires, creating abundance. And doing so without struggling.

Feeling frustrated, and self improvement programs and products often increase our level of frustration, keeps us trapped in struggle. When you feel frustrated, do you think your focus is on the possibilities that exist in every situation, or does your frustration keep you focused on how unfair, how difficult, how impossible things seem? The Law of Attraction will provide you an abundance of what you focus on. Being frustrated and focusing on what’s wrong with you, what you need to improve, will manifest more experiences, emotions, and opportunities to feel more frustration.

You Deserve Abundance

Don’t allow the ideas that others have about you shape your ideas about your life. You have to think for yourself. The messages out there are that none of us are good enough. If you buy into the group think of self improvement, you will experience difficulty manifesting the positive experiences and abundance that you truly desire, and absolutely deserve.
